Day 12 - Did you know...

.….how Andal followed Periyazwar’s footsteps in Thiruppallaandu and replicated the same in Thiruppavai ?
Let us see these two verses to understand how Andal has followed Periyazwar’s footsteps:
1) Mallaanda thinthol mani vannaa... - “Thiru Pallandu” [pasuram :1 - “pallandu pallandu”]
2) Seeriya singam...poovai poo vannaa - “Thiruppavai” [pasuram :23 - “maari malai”]

1) By citing “Mallaanda thinthol”, Periyazwar conveys that Perumal has Parakramam (mighty) and by citing “Manivannaa”, he adds that though HE is mighty and brave, HE is soft natured (Rama’s speech will be so soft as being brushed with peacock feather) and so beautiful (so beautiful as the glittering colours of gems).

2) By citing “Seeriya singam”, Andal also conveys that Perumal has “Parakramam”(mighty) and Tejas”(Energy) and by citing “Poovai poo vanna”, She also adds that HE is so soft and beautiful as a flower.

Thus, Andal followed Periyazwar's footsteps in praising Perumal's Parakramam and Sukumaram.
