கீசுகீசென்று எங்கும் ஆனைச்சாத்தன் கலந்து
பேசினபேச்சரவம் கேட்டிலையோ? பேய்ப் பெண்ணே!
காசும்பிறப்பும் கலகலப்பக் கைபேர்த்து
வாசநறுங்குழல் ஆச்சியர் மத்தினால்
ஓசைபடுத்த தயிரரவம் கேட்டிலையோ?
நாயகப் பெண்பிள்ளாய்! நாராயணன் மூர்த்தி
கேசவனைப் பாடவும் நீகேட்டே கிடத்தியோ?

Introduction:

In the last Paasuram, Aandal woke up a girl who is new to Bhagavath Vishayam. In this Paasuram she tries to wake up a girl who is not new to Bhagavath Vishayam but still sleeping.

Padhapadhaartham - பதபதார்த்தம் - Word by Word Meaning :

peeipeNNe/பேய்பெண்ணே - Foolish girl

engum/எங்கும் - Everywhere

aanaich chaaththan/ஆனைச்சாத்தன் - Bharathvaaja birds

kalandhu/கலந்து - together

keesu keesu endru peesina/கீசு கீசு என்று பேசின - chirping and talking to each other

peechchu aravam/பேச்சு அரவம் - the noise created by talking to each other

keettilaiyo/கேட்டிலயோ - Cant you hear?

vaasam naRum kuzal aaichiyar/வாசம் நறும் குழல் ஆச்சியர் - The Aaichiyars, with fragrant long hair

kaasum piRappum/காசும் பிறப்பும் - the jewels in the neck of the Aaichiyars - Aamaithaali/ஆமைத்தாலி, achchuthtaali/அச்சுத்தாலி

kalakalappa/கலகலப்ப - noise made out of the banging of the jewels against each other

kaipeerthu/கைபேர்த்து - to shake their hands

maththinaal/மத்தினால் - with the instrument that they use to churn curd

oosaipatuththa/ஓசைபடுத்த - to amke noise by churning

thayir aravam keettilaiyoo - dont you hear the noise of the curd

naayagap peNN piLLaayi/நாயகப் பெண் பிள்ளாய் - the leader of the girls

naaraayaNan muurthi kesavanai/நாராயணன் மூர்த்தி கெசவனை - Sriman Narayanan who is also called Kesavan

Meaning:

Aandal in the previous Paasuram woke up a few girls who are new to the Vrath and have not yet understood the relationship with Perumal. In this Paasuram, she is attempting to wake up a few girls who not new to Bhagavath Vishayam but still sleeping.

Our Poorvacharyas, here ask a question, as usual, which is, "How come a few are awake and a few are sleeping? Does this mean that those are awake have greater bhakthi towards Krishna than those that are sleeping?".

As usual, they give us the answer for this as well. There are two types of effect of Krishna on his Bhagavathas. One will make them long for him and hence make them not sleep, and the other will attract them so much so as to seduce them to make them faint. In Aayarpaadi, everyone had equal love towards Krishna and Krishna loved them equally as well. And so there is no greater or smaller when someone is awake or asleep.

"Hey Foolish Girl!! Cant you hear the Bharadhwaaja Birds making the chirping noise and thus understand that it is dawn already?! Wake up", says Aandal. Here Aandal calls her friends Foolish because that is common between friends and does not mean disrespect.

And the girls refuse to wake up saying, these birds havent slept yet and it is still night time and they are making this noise because they are enjoying the night together.

For which Aandal says that they are making the noise to convey the grief that they are about to experience because of the seperation between the male and female for a long time to come as it is already dawn.

The girls sleeping wanted, like in the last Paasuram, to give them some other signs which will convince them that it is dawn.

Aandal asks them if they cannot here the noise made by the bangles and the jewels of the women folks who have already started churning curd in an effort to extract Butter from them. She also asks the girls if they cant even smell the fragrance that emanates from the long hair of the women folks, which untied because of their churning of the curd.

Again the girls do not accept it saying that ever since Krishna has come down to earth, the prosperiety is at an all time high and because of this, the cows give enough milk and the women folks are constantly and continuously churning curd to extract butter from the unlimited supply of milk from the cows.

Andal says, "Hey leader of the girls!! Cant you hear the hymns of the purohit who are singing the praise of Sriman Narayana, who killed the demon Kesi, and thus called Kesavan? Cant you by this infer that it is dawn which is why the purohit are gettign ready to offer their prayers in the temple?".

Now let us see the Sri Vaishnava Sampradhaya Meaning in this song.

Our poorvacharyas are cited as birds in this paasuram. And by saying "kalandhu pesina pechcharavam/கலந்து பேசின பேச்சரவம்", we get a very crucial meaning and we see the greatness of Sri Vaishnava Sampradhaya here.

Our Azhwars and Aacharyas are called "pesitre pesum eka gandargal/பேசிறே பேசும் ஏக கண்டர்கள்" - Roughly translated as those who, in spite of living in different times and different places were saying the "same exact" things through their wonderfull divine creation.

In the works of our Poorvacharyas, you can see the threat right from Shruthi,, Smruthi, Ithihasa, Purana, Paancharaarthra, Divya Prabhandha meanings with no change. This is the greatness. None of them said something that has a different meaning or against the core principles of their predecessors and successors.
