A note from our Thiruppavai Vyakyanam writer - Sri Rangarajan Narasimhan

Sri:
Srimathe Ramanujaya Nama:
Azhwar Emberumanar Jeeyar Thiruvadigale Sharanam:

Adiyen, with the Niruhethuka Krupai of Shriman Narayanan, attempt to write what little I know about Thiruppavai in the coming days. I write here, what I have heard from Vidhwans in their Upanyasams and Kalakshebams from Shri. U. Ve. Gomatam Sampath Swamy, Shri. U. Ve. Velukkudi Krishnan Swamy, Shri. U. Ve. Parasara Badhri Bhattar Swamy and other great Vidhwans, and what I read in Vyakyana books in particular by Shri. Periyavachan Pillai (moovaayirappadi), Shri. Thirunarayanapuram Aai Jananyacharya Swamy (iiraayirappadi), Shri. Azhagiya Manavala Perumal Nayanar (aarayirappadi), Shri. U. Ve. Kanchi Pradhivadhi Bayangaram Annagarachariyar Swami’s (Thiruppavai Narumanam), and other great Vidhwans, who have spent their precious time in educating us the most important aspect every Jeevathma needs to know.

It is these and many more great Vidhwan’s broad mindedness on looking at life not just for themselves and their families, but for the countless number of young children who are born and yet to be born to understand the “Purpose” of life, and to answer the very important question of “Who are we? What are we here for? Who is GOD? What is our relationship with GOD?”

My sincere apologies if there are mistakes anywhere, and will promptly correct them as and when it comes to light. I would request you to write your comments, and suggestions to improve this and be part.

As Andal says koodi irundhu kulirndhelo rembavai. கூடியிருந்து குளிர்ந்தேலோ ரெம்பாவாய்.
I will also try to add a Sampradhaya Dictionary which we can refer to for words that are used in the commentary.

Pre Requisite:
Yes!! There is a pre-requisite to this as well. And it is very simple. It is just that we need to have TRUST in GOD and belief that VEDHAS are TRUE. It is also required for us to understand and accept that only through Vedhas we can understand GOD.

And one other thing. I know that today is a world of Facebook and Twitters. Unfortunately if we have to learn Sampradhaya we have lot more patience than that is required for the Facebook and Twitter websites. We need to develop the patience to read through a bit more involved than with short concentration spans. I will definitely try to keep the paragraphs as small as possible though!

This is all we need to go forward.

Adinayen Ramanuja Dasan
